Health examinations
If you receive various health exams, early detection and treatment are possible, minimizing health risks. Please check and manage your own health condition.
The outline of the health exam system implemented by the Health Insurance Society is as follows.
Insured Person Exam (April-July)
- Middle-Aged Person Exam
- Basic exams and stomach, colorectal, and gynecological cancer screenings are conducted for insured individuals aged 35 and over.
- Exams must be received at medical institutions designated by the Health Insurance Society.
- There is no personal contribution fee (excluding optional exams).
- Gynecological Exam
- Gynecological cancer screenings are conducted for female insured individuals aged 30-34.
- * For voluntarily and continuously insured individuals, exams are conducted together with the Family Exams below.
Family Exam (July-December)
Conducted for dependents registered as of May 1 of each year using the following details.
- Reception services are outsourced to external contractors.
- There is no personal contribution fee (excluding optional exams).
- See below for the exam items.
Exam Items
- Family Middle-Aged Person Exam
- For those aged 35 and over, basic exams and stomach, colorectal, and gynecological cancer screenings are conducted.
- Family Lifestyle Disease Exam
- For those aged 30-34, basic exams and gynecological cancer screenings are conducted.
- Family Basic Exam
- For those aged 20-29, basic exams are conducted.
- * As of fiscal 2014, children under 40 years of age are no longer eligible.
